This morning was our first momtourage meeting!

Wondering what Momtourage is?

It’s a place for moms to get together with other moms to build friendships, be encouraged in the different stages in our lives.

Honestly, when I fist signed up to be apart of this group back in 2007 I ONLY signed up because one mom asked me to and I felt bad for saying no. I thought that I would have NOTHING in common with these women. Really in my head I was thinking OLD women…SORRY LADIES! At the time I was 23 and it seemed like every other mom I saw was way older than me. Why would I want to hang out with moms who were 5, 10, 15 years older than me?

Fast forward to present day and I can honestly say that these “OLD” women have been such a big part of who I am as a mother, wife, and friend. I now realize that no matter what age you are. If you are a mother you can relate at any age. Thank you momtourage moms for being amazing friends to me and I’m sorry for calling you old!

Models Wanted!

Models Wanted!!!

Want to get your photo taken by three talented photographers? Here’s your chance! You just need to be available on September 11th and either be married or engaged.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch! Just requirements! You must be willing to have fun If you are married…girls, you will need to get back into that wedding dress! Men, you will need to look nice too. A jacket and tie will do.

What do you get out of it?

Other than the privilege of being photographed for FREE by amazing photographers. You will get 5 digital images of your choice from each photographer as a thank you for modeling.

Why?

Why not? If you are a sports player don’t you practice playing your sport? You just don’t go out and play in the games right? Or if you are a teacher don’t you prepare yourself for the upcoming school year?

You get the point, yah?

How does it work?

Email me a photo of you and your fiance/spouse to info@tarasosphotography.com and tell me why you think you would be awesome models. You can be totally honest and tell me if you just want the free pics! All emails must be sent before August 27th. I will email you back with further details like locations and times available. There are only a handful of couples we can photograph in one day so get your email to me asap if you are interested. Oh and the photo you send doesn’t have to be fabulous. A snapshot from your phone will do.

I met Erin & Scott while I was photographing Scott’s cousins wedding last October. Erin emailed a few weeks after the wedding saying this…

“I LOVED the pictures you captured for Breanna wedding! I love all the candid pictures you got and all the action, it really made the wedding come alive again!”

Fast forward to May 15th and I’m photographing Erin & Scott’s big day!

Lindsay & Chad get a little extra love on the blog since it took me FOREVER to post their pics. You never know when things are going to come up in life to rock your world. So once again thank you Lindsay and Chad for hangin’ in there waiting patiently for your pics.

Lindsay is a hairstylist/makeup artist and did not want her bridesmaids hair to fall. So she used almost an entire bottle of hairspray to make sure their hair lasted ALL DAY LONG. As you can see her maid of honor can barely breath from all the hairspray flowin’ in the room

I love how it takes 4 bridesmaids to help get a dress on. What other time would you need that many helping hands while getting dressed?

I’m not saying that this pic is gonna win an award or anything but I LOVE it. You know why?

I see Nancy & Jose twice a week when our kids are running around at their Tae Kwon Do class and we get 30 whole minutes to just sit and watch. For us stay at home mommies you know you NEVER get 30 minds to just sit. Once we hear “class dismissed” it’s back to chaos. Trying to get the kids in the car and back home to continue what we didn’t finish before we left.

SO…I love this photo because when Nancy & Jose got a night away to celebrate a Lyssa’s graduation. I got to see them without the everyday chaos. They were just in their moment so in love. Even if it was only a moment. They stopped and took it.

You never know what to expect when you walk into a newborn shoot. Now add two newborns at the same time and you REALLY don’t know what to expect!

Shannon & Partick were such sweethearts. They loved taking photos by themselves but weren’t feelin’ each other when we tried to get a shot of them together. So…instead of trying to work against them I chose to go with what they were giving me and embrace the reality of the day. As you will see in the last two shots

Our first vacation!!!

Will and I have been married for almost 7 years and we have NEVER been on a “real” vacation together. We so desperately needed one! So we stared saving and planning almost a year ago. We weren’t sure how we were going to ask someone to take care of our 2 and 3 year old for 7 days but we knew something would work out. Thankfully we have an amazing family who took care of that department So…4 weeks ago we were off to Cabo San Lucas!

I will admit I am TERRIFIED of the ocean. Just everything about it frightens me. Well…I actually jumped into the ocean and went snorkeling! When I first jumped in my heart was racing and I made Will hold my hand. I was NOT enjoying it at all. I was freaking out looking for sharks and not even looking at the beauty that was right in front of me. After a while I let Will’s hand go. Mainly because I knew I was holding him back. I even caught myself a few times forgetting about the sharks and enjoying all the cute little tropical fish around me THEN…all of a sudden it felt like something stung my leg. I freaked out and looked under the water for the shark because I knew that’s what it was :} Nothing! What the heck! My leg started burning and it was getting hard to swim. I went back to the boat and saw my leg had what looked like a big blister forming. AAAHHH!!!!! What is that!!!!! I asked the boat dude and he said it was a jellyfish sting. OMGOSH!!!!! He acted like it was nothing and walked away. I was scared but then thought about it and it didn’t really hurt that bad so I knew I wasn’t dying and if it was serious that guy wouldn’t have just acted like I got a splinter. The pain went away a few hour later and I was fine. Oh and No, nobody peed on me :}

So, I thought I was going to go snorkeling and overcome my fear of the ocean. Yah, that didn’t happen at all! I think it just made me even more terrified! Other than that experience I had so much fun

Kyle & Brittany’s Wedding was at the Sierra La Verne Country Club. They were such a fun couple, always crackin’ jokes! I had a blast at their wedding. Might I add that their families and friends sure do know how to dance the night away You will see Brittany’s grandpa workin’ the dance floor in the last pic!

Andre is an aspiring actor, model and rapper and wanted some photos taken of himself. He told me that he was NOT photogenic! I was a bit worried after he said that…especially if he wants to be model. You have to be photogenic for that career! On my way to the session I remember thinking. “Oh man, this isn’t going to be easy!” Well….I show up and take one look at Andre and think “Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!” He was awesome in front of the camera Andre, you are crazy if you still think you are not photogenic!

Jerry & Charissa’s Wedding

Jerry and Charissa were such an easy couple to work with. The only request they had for me was to get some photos of them in front of the fire truck. That’s it? YEP!

Charissa was the most relaxed bride I have ever seen. Even though we were behind schedule she was calm and enjoying every moment. Might I add that she was STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! I really couldn’t wait to photograph their wedding. I knew Charissa was going to look perfect in her wedding dress. Which she did of course!

Even though there were a few things that happened throughout the night that weren’t planned. Joe… I mean Jerry (if you were at the wedding you know what I mean) and Charissa were so good about everything. They enjoyed themselves the entire time

Breanna REALLY wanted to do a trash the dress shoot. She emailed me a few times asking about it and she tried to make it work. Unfortunately things happened and she decided that she wouldn’t be able to do the shoot. Some time later Aaron called and told me that he knew how much it meant to Breanna and he wanted to surprise her with the shoot as a wedding gift. How awesome is that! I was so excited! I wanted to call Breanna right away and start planning it. Of course I couldn’t Aaron wasn’t going to tell her until their wedding night. It was so hard not to say anything to Breanna. I knew I would see her two days after their wedding but she didn’t

So…we headed down to Huntington Beach for the shoot. Breanna didn’t want to do any trashing which was perfectly fine with me. This beach was where they got engaged so it meant a lot to them. It was so nice to get photos of them so relaxed and in love

They went to Ruby’s right before Aaron proposed and drank peanut butter cup shakes. They were excited to see the shake on the wall! Yes, we decided to be fierce in front of the Ruby’s sign

Aaron & Breanna’s Wedding

What a beautiful couple these two are. I can’t even describe how beautiful their relationship is. They are so in love with each other. It’s so stinkin’ cute

I have NEVER been so emotional at a wedding before. Seriously, I was fighting back tears! Their wedding was centered around God and the tremendous amount of love they both have for Him. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! There were so many surprises throughout the day too. Breanna surprised Aaron right before she walked down the isle with a speech. Well, really it was more than that. So, you could hear her voice but not see her. It was beautiful to watch Aaron as he listened to her voice.

After they kissed it was Aaron’s turn to surprised Breanna. He sang her a lovely song.

A moment to themselves right after the ceremony He couldn’t take his eyes off of her

Breanna then wrote her dad something so special. This was really when I was fighting back the tears! Her dad had given her a purity ring years ago and she was now giving it back to him. Again it was such a special moment to see. It totally made me think of my daughter on her wedding day.

Jerry & Charissa’s Engagement

I was so happy to be able to shoot Jerry & Charissa’s engagement photos You see…we had their session scheduled for a few weeks ago. The weekend before, I got an email from Charissa saying we would either have to reschedule the session or possibly even cancel it completely. Why you say? Well, Jerry is a firefighter and we all know about the fires that happened recently. So, he was off workin’ hard and wasn’t going to get a day off to take their engagement photos We worked it out and got them done!!!

While I was waiting for Jerry and Charissa’s session to start. I was walking around and saw a dad with his kids piled around something in the bushes. The kids were screaming and jumping up and down. I got curious and walked over to see what the commotion was all about. OH MY GOSH!!!!!! This is what they were looking at. EEEWWWW!!!!! It was the biggest spider I have seen in real life! (The picture isn’t really doing it justice). The spider was, no joke…like 4 inches long. If you would have seen it you would have been so scared to step on it cuz it was so big!

I had the honor of shooting Jeff and Renae’s wedding earlier this month. Their wedding was absolutely amazing I did get spoiled with a second shooter. No, not my hubby!!! Megan did an awesome job. She shot the guys, I shot the girls. I shot the wedding party she shot the cocktail hour. Of course we tag teamed during the ceremony and reception Check out her blog post on the wedding.

A day in Pasadena

I finally set aside a day just for me to get out and play with my camera. I went with my friend Megan who got some different shots from the day so check out her blog post. We wanted to play around with the sun a bit. I never have been able to get sun bursts in my shots before. I read this blog post from MCP Actions and realized what I was doing wrong. Now I got it! With a bit more practice I think I can get some great sun bursts, maybe something to hang in my house

I wanted to practice with different meter settings and white balance. So Megan was my BEAUTIFUL model!!!

This wedding was super special to me. Ashley and I have been friends since high school and we have tons of memories together.
